Soft and strong summer

The things that do not break us, bring us into uncharted territory, wiser?

The way in which we can watch our lives as observers, outside.

Detached. Loving. Open. Fully present. This paradox of living an awakened life means we see. we know. we feel. we allow. we approach. we enter. we stay and stay and stay until the feeling has passed. until the storm is gone.

And then, a new breathe. A new way of being that we can’t ever let go of. It’s in us, it becomes part of us. We move forward with a new state of being.

we are not able to

“ get our body back”

“go back to the way it was.”

“return to normal”

This becomes a chapter, a part of the story that we are not writing.

to be strong and soft means you breathe with

It’s been a challenging road to be here today, but here we are.

There are some things in life with no meaning, no purpose, no sense and are not for us to understand or learn from. They are not our stories.

And yet the paradox is that WE ARE ALL CONNECTED. And so, of course we feel it, too.

Things happen to those we love or those we barely know that cripple us, weigh us down, bring us to our knees.

And yet, since the story is still opening in our lives, because we have today, it’s not yet complete. There’s more.

More to be seen, more to know over time, more to feel, more to become, if we answer the call. If we stay awake.

This summer, I ask for quiet.

Less work, more play.

Less social, more in real life.

Less out there, more in here.

Less small talk, more real talk.

Less busy, more long walks.

My intention this summer ( SANKALPA) is to cultivate a sense of wholehearted presence in my life, with awareness, compassion, and joy.

In my relationship to self, others and nature. Sounds simple, right?

Yet, sometimes this is SO HARD. To sit with what’s happening all around us.

To NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING but show up, or love, or hold a hand. To speak less. To listen more.

The ultimate letting go, just allowing the feelings and emotions to flow through you, trusting you will get to the other side.

Reaching out for help when you need it, and moving towards a life that is worth living.
